Dreamgirls Review and Trailer

I was pleasantly surprised with the movie Dreamgirls.  I’m not usually a fan of musical movies but this one managed to be entertaining.  Jennifer Hudson who is nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film is fantastic in her first acting role.  She does a great job in both the acting and singing parts of the movie.  Beyonce also surprised me in Dreamgirls with better acting than she has done in previous movies like Austin Powers.  She seems to really be coming into her own as an actress.  Also fantastic in the film are Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy.  I think this is the first Eddie Murphy movie I’ve seen in a while where he doesn’t play all the characters.  hehe.

Although it is cheesy at times when they break into song, this is a fantastic movie.  The soundtrack is fantastic and I hope someone buys it for me for a present soon.  Hint hint!
