"Dracula" Flying Into Theaters

October 4, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

dracula1 Looks like vampires will continue to rule the theaters for quite a while. Though maybe not as lovey-dovey as the upcoming Twilight.

ShockTillYouDrop.com is reporting that Dracula is coming to theaters, probably in June 2009.

Here’s the scoop: Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker and “Dracula” documentarian/historian Ian Holt have sold the North American-English publishing rights of the sequel to Bram’s classic novel “Dracula” to an alliance that includes Dutton U.S., Harper U.K., and Penguin-Canada.

Wait…what? A sequel? So we’re talking about a brand new Dracula story no one’s ever read or seen before? I’m so not up on my vampire trivia. Cinematical wrote up something about it a while back.

Just for the heck of it, I checked IMDB.com to see how many Dracula movies have been made. We’re looking at somewhere in the area of 160. And a lot of them are porn movies - what’s up with that? Anyway, all I can say is, this one better be darn good.
