Don’t mess with Mother Nature … or Ellen Degeneres
March 18, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Ellen Degeneres is stepping away from her TV show studio and onto a movie set. The funny girl has signed to play Mother Nature in an untitled comedy being produced by Walden Media.
But will she dance in the role? Hmmm … not sure about that. But Walden Media has a history of great, family-friendly movies, so I’m sure it will be good. They’re the studio behind the “Chronicles of Narnia” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”
In the film, Mother Nature will return to Earth for the first time since the planet’s creation. Says Degeneres: “I’ve always wanted to control the weather. Nothing will stop me from doing this … neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet. … I may be thinking of the postal service — but I’m really excited about the movie."
Her turn as Dory in “Finding Nemo” is one of the all-time great movie characters. This movie is being penned by "Sex and the City" writer-executive producer Jenny Bicks.

I think that choosing Ellen Degeneres as Mother Nature is sheer genius! I can’t wait to see how she becomes her. Knowing Ellen, I am pretty sure that generations to come will picture Mother Nature with Ellen’s face
