March 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

John Patrick Shanley, director of the film “Doubt,” currently in theaters, sat down with Paul Byrne of Movies.ie. He talks about working with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, and his own views on the Catholic Church.

Set in 1964, “Doubt” centers on themes of religion, morality and authority in its storyline about a nun (Streep) who confronts a priest (Philip Seymour Hoffman) she suspects is abusing a black student.
