Did David Carradine commit suicide?

david_carradine_zumaredwestphotos287250-20030618-zzz-w38 Rumors are swirling around the death of 72-year-old actor David Carradine. He was in Thailand filming the movie "Stretch" when a maid found his nude body in a closet in his Bangkok hotel room. The body was found in a sitting position, with a yellow rope wrapped around his neck and attached to a closet bar.

I mean, it sure sounds like suicide, right? Who knows for sure, and the police suspect that’s indeed the case, but Carradine’s manager doesn’t believe it.

"I can tell you 100 percent that he would have never committed suicide," Tiffany Smith, who along with Chuck Binder managed the star, told People.com. "He was too full of life."

Then again, you never know what’s going on inside a person, and maybe his manager’s just trying to put a good spin on it. In the past, he spoke openly about his battle with drugs and alcohol, and even his thoughts of suicide.

Still, Hill said he’d been in good spirits and had several other films lined up. His niece, actress Martha Plimpton, said in a statement that the family was stunned by the news.

"My Uncle David was a brilliantly talented, fiercely intelligent and generous man. He was the nexus of our family in so many ways, and drew us together over the years and kept us connected. I adored him as a child, and as an adult I admired and respected him. We will all miss him terribly."

Ironically, he starred in a 2008 movie called "My Suicide." He played Bill in "Kill Bill" Volumes 1 and 2, along with dozens of other movies and TV shows, but I’ll always think of him as the peaceful Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu."

I was a big fan of him during the Kung Fu series. The only reason i think of for a person like him to commit suicide; he must have been ill with no chance to recover. Too bad he has gone. i’ll pray for him…
