Danny Glover in Talks for "2012"
June 2, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Danny Glover is one of those actors who just keeps chugging along year after year. He has a dozen films in the works, and is in talks to join Roland Emmerich’s 2012, scheduled for a July 2009 release.
The film, also stirring interest from Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt, centers on a global disaster and tells the story of several heroic survivors.
Glover is in talks to play the president, with Newton possibly playing his daughter. Platt might sign on as the president’s chief of staff. John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor are already on board.
Emmerich is directing a script he penned with his 10,000 BC co-writer Harald Kloser. He’s also exec producing with Michael Wimmer and Ute Emmerich.
“2012″ was shopped around with a $200 million budget, but Columbia is hoping to make it for less.
