Comedian Dane Cook can be seen in the upcoming comedy My Best Friend’s Girl, in theaters Sept. 19, 2008. He loves the movies, but hates the poster.

On his MySpace page, Cook writes: “I’d like to inform you I had no say in this marketing campaign, but if I did, things would be different since it is obvious that this poster is boring/odd and has zero to do with the movie I performed in.” Harsh? Looks ok to me. It’s a romantic comedy – what does he want?

He goes on to dis everything from the graphics (”Whoever photoshopped our poster must have done so at taser point with three minutes to fulfill their hostage-takers deranged obligations”) to his hair (”It’s actually a close up shot of Tom Selleck’s Magnum P.I. mustache they photo-slapped on my noggin”).

But go see the movie anyway. Cook says it’s “the funniest film I’ve done yet” (you know, that’s not really sayin’ much) and calls it an “edgy comedy with a dash of romance.” Ok, then.

I think that often a weak movie can be held up by a funny leading character. But I don’t get the casting of Dane Cook as either funny or a male romantic lead. Then again, I’m basing this on viewing “Employee of the Month.” Perhaps his films have improved since then?

Umm well Good Luck Chuck was friggen hilarious and i think that him bashing the movie poster is hilarious. He had the B alls to actually talk sh*t about the poster, other actors never do that, they just go “okay whatever my movie is being promoted thats fine” i think its amazing that dane cool actually spoke his opinion without worrying about what anyone would say
