Clooney: "Batman & Robin" Changed My Career
October 2, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
You know, sometimes even a crappy role can change an actor’s career for the better.
Case in point: George Clooney as Batman in 1997’s Batman & Robin. Sure, it was a crappy movie, but as Clooney told Showbiz Spy, he wouldn’t change a thing.
“I don’t regret anything,” he said. “With hindsight it’s easy to look back at Batman and go, ‘Woah! that was really shit, and I was really bad in it. The truth is, Batman is still the biggest break I ever had. It changed my career. I wouldn’t be doing this now if it hadn’t been for Batman.”
More after the jump, including my choice for the next Batman…
So who’s the next star to come out of Batman? The Dark Knight certainly helped Christian Bale, not to mention director Christopher Nolan. No word yet on whether either will be back for the next installment, although preproduction is rumored to take place as early as February 2009 in Chicago.
If Bale isn’t in, who should we choose for the next Batman? Which up and coming star could fill those shoes? This might be out there, but I’m thinking Taylor Kitsch from Friday Night Lights. I mean, look at him. I totally see him as Batman. Too pretty?
