Lindsay Lohan having Labor Pains – on ABC Family!
July 2, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
When I heard that Lindsay Lohan had an upcoming movie on ABC Family, something just didn’t click with that news. I mean, let’s face it. The girl hasn’t exactly been the stuff of family viewing in recent years. But who knows, maybe she’s doing a reboot and getting back on track.
Then again, since ABC Family started airing shows like "Secret Life of the American Teenager," maybe they’re more geared towards pregnancy stories. The IMDB Page for "Labor Pains" lists it as PG-13 for sexual content and language, and notes that it will be on DVD Aug. 4, 2009.
"Labor Pains," will air on ABC Family on Sunday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Lohan stars as Thea, an assistant at a publishing company who pretends to be pregnant so her boss won’t fire her. Her friend and co-worker, Lisa (Cheryl Hines), helps with the ruse, but as you might imagine, things don’t go as planned.
The movie also stars Janeane Garofalo, Chris Parnell, and Bonnie Sommerville. Watch the trailer and see more stills after the jump!
Stars gather for Farrah Fawcett’s funeral
July 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Even though her health issues have been in the news for months, it’s still hard to believe that Farrah Fawcett is gone. She’s always been "there," whether it was "Charlie’s Angels" in the early years or her later career in movies and TV.
Her friends and family, including partner Ryan O’Neal, their son Redmond, and her best friend Alana Stewart, are just a few of the mourners who attended Farrah’s funeral at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Megan Fox stops by the Late Show with David Letterman
June 27, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
On June 25, Megan Fox stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman to promote her new film, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," which opened in theaters last week.
The stunning actress co-stars with Shia LaBeouf and a bunch of giant robots in the sequel. She’s so tiny, and is that a Marilyn Monroe tattoo on her arm? Maybe she identifies with the blonde bombshell…?
RIP Farrah Fawcett: Awkward clip of her on "The Dating Game"
June 25, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Now that I’ve posted my favorite Michael Jackson video ("Thriller"), it’s time for a post about Farrah Fawcett, who died at the age of 62 today. I grew up with both of these icons, listening to Michael’s album "Thriller" and watching "Charlie’s Angels" with my mom and dad. Yes, even though it was about three hot babes, it was still a fun family show, along the lines of "Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island."
But lest we forget, Farrah also did a lot of movies during her career, including the critically acclaimed TV movie "The Burning Bed," about an abused wife who sets her husband’s bed on fire with him in it (which won a Golden Globe), and "Extremities," about a woman who takes revenge on the man who invades her home and tries to rape her (also nominated for a Golden Globe). It was a period of dark roles for the poster girl.
Other films included "The Apostle" with Robert Duvall, "Dr. T and the Women" with Richard Gere, and the very early (1976) "Logan’s Run" with Michael York. Did you know she was on "The Dating Game," though? Here’s the proof (and watch all the way through for an awkward surprise!):

Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen at Bruno UK Premiere
June 21, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
What must it be like being the girlfriend of Sacha Baron Cohen? I wonder if Isla Fisher ever gets tired of his multiple personalities. Or who knows, maybe he’s actually really normal in real life. Word has it they’re both too busy to get married, though they have a baby daughter together, Olive.
But not too busy to promote their respective movies. The two attended the UK premiere of “Bruno,” the freaky comedy starring Cohen as a flamboyant Austrian fashionista who comes to America seeking fame and fortune. Or something.
Here are a few images from the premiere, held at the Empire Leicester Square in London last week.

32 Images from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
June 21, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” hits theaters (IMAX and conventional) this Wednesday, June 24, 2009, and it looks Totally Awesome, Man!! (Couldn’t help myself). But it really does look like a fantastic summer blockbuster for Dreamworks/Paramount.
The story picks up where the first “Transformers” movie left off, with the evil Decepticons returning to Earth to take Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) prisoner. He’s learned the truth about the origins of the ginormous robots, but he’s got Optimus Prime watching his back. In short, it’s a robot battle to end all robot battles.
Directed by Michael Bay, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” also stars Megan Fox, Rainn Wilson, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Tyrese Gibson. It’s rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material, and brief drug material. Watch the trailer here, and check out the (Totally Awesome!!) pics after the jump!
Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates shine at Cheri premiere
June 19, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The stars shone brightly at the screening of “Cheri” at the DGA Theater in New York City this week. Directed by Stephen Frears, the romantic drama is set in 1920s Paris and follows the son of a courtesan who escapes into a fantasy world after being forced to end a relationship with an older woman.
Frears has several British films to his directorial credits, including “The Queen” and “Mrs. Henderson Presents,” not to mention “The Grifters,” “Mary Reilly,” and “High Fidelity,” to name a few. And you couldn’t get a better cast, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates, and Rupert Friend. The movie opens in limited release June 26, 2009. Looking forward to seeing it.

Rob Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin filming Remember Me
June 18, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Here are a few pics of Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin, filming scenes for “Remember Me” at New York University. Too bad (for all the waiting fans) that Pattinson left the set covered by an umbrella!
Directed by Allen Coulter, the Summit Entertainment film also stars Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper, and centers on two lovers dealing with respective family tragedies. It’s set for a Feb. 12, 2009 release date.
9 Images from Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp
June 17, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
“Public Enemies” hits theaters July 1, 2009, and it’s one of my most anticipated movies of the year.
Directed by Michael Mann, it tells the story of charismatic gangster John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), whose bank raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) and his fledgling FBI, including agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale).
The story also delves into Dillinger’s girlfriend Bill Frechette (Marion Cotillard), and his gang, including Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) and Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi). Hoover made Dillinger America’s first “Public Enemy Number One” and sent in Purvis, the dashing “Clark Gable of the FBI.’’
If it seems like an old West shootout, you’re not far off. Purvis brought in a crew of Western ex-lawmen and orchestrated multiple betrayals, from the infamous “Lady in Red’’ to Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti.
Are you looking forward to this movie as much as I am?

Sydney Film Festival - Toni Collette, Miranda Otto at the Beautiful Kate premiere
June 14, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
The Sydney Film Festival took place last week, and below are a few images from the premiere of "Beautiful Kate."
Directed by Rachel Ward (yes, the same one who was in "Against All Odds" way back when), the film follows writer Ned Kendall (Ben Mendelsohn), who’s asked to return to the family home by his sister Sally (Rachel Griffiths, so great in these dramatic roles) to say goodbye to his dying father. Memories of his beautiful twin sister Kate (Sophie Lowe) bring back long-buried memories from their past.
Miranda Otto:
