Drew Barrymore at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 19, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Drew Barrymore gets more adorable every year. She took home a Golden Globe for her performance in HBO’s “Grey Gardens,” which also nabbed an award for Best Mini-Series.
I’m not sure if I’m completely crazy over the beige dress. It sort of fades into her body with her light skin tone. Although what a difference a few years makes, right? Remember when she wore that awful green dress with no bra to an awards show? She was a little chunkier back then, too.
You can catch Drew in theaters right now in “Everybody’s Fine” with Robert De Niro. Next up for …read more
Mickey Roarke at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 19, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Wanted to post a few more pics from the 2010 Golden Globes before it fades from our memory forever (which won’t take long, since it was pretty boring overall).
Here’s a photo of Mickey Roarke backstage at the Globes. He’s such a weird dresser; I don’t even know what to think about his wardrobe. I guess the hat’s ok, but darker might have been better.
Basically, I want the sexy Mickey Roarke back from his early career! And I’m not even talking about his looks and weird plastic surgery. He just looks so … unkempt. And that’s not really it …read more
Robert Downey Jr’s acceptance speech — one of my favorite Golden Globes moments
January 18, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
I’m not too sure about Ricky Gervais’ hosting skills at the Golden Globes the other night. He sort of bombed out. And I even talked with him a few weeks before the event, and he said he’d be nice and have fun with it.
Well, here’s the thing. You can’t make fun of a bunch of people who are sitting right in front of you. So when he took potshots about Kiefer Sutherland’s anger management issues and Mel Gibson’s drinking, it didn’t seem that funny. Not funny at all, really. In fact, I thought maybe Kiefer was going to jump …read more
‘Avatar’ wins Best Picture (Drama) at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 18, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
I’m not really sure how I feel about “Avatar” winning for Best Picture (Drama) at the 2010 Golden Globes. There’s no doubt it’s a fantastic movie – I saw it twice – but Best Picture? And in the drama category? What about “The Hurt Locker”? Or “Up in the Air”? Those seem like better candidates for this win, for some reason.
Here’s the cast of “Avatar” following the 67thAnnual Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 17, 2010. From left are Sam Worthington, director James Cameron, Zoe Saldana, producer John Landau and Sigourney Weaver (I love …read more
Complete List of Golden Globes 2010 Winners
January 18, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Did your favorites win a Golden Globe award last night? Although I loved “Avatar” and saw it twice, I’m really surprised it won in the Best Picture – Drama category. I really thought “The Hurt Locker” would take that award.
And … I have to say, I’m surprised that James Cameron won for Best Director, especially up against Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”), Clint Eastwood (“Invictus”), Jason Reitman (“Up in the Air”) and Quentin Tarantino (“Inglourious Basterds”).
But at least Jason Reitman won for Best Screenplay for “Up in the Air.” And I LOVE that “The Hangover” won in the Best Comedy …read more
Toni Collette at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 17, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Surely Toni Collette is one of the finest actresses of this generation. She plays not only one role on Showtime’s “The United States of Tara,” but several. Her character has multiple personalities. But you can also catch her in the theater now and then, in movies like “Evening” and “Little Miss Sunshine.”
She’s probably one of the few women who could wear this dress without looking completely hippy. And by hippy, I mean wide-hipped and not the flower power kind. But it’s really cute on her.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 17, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Are these two the cutest couple on the planet or what? Of course, I’m talking about John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. In addition to playing Jim on NBC’s “The Office,” he’s carved out a nice little movie career for himself. You can catch him in “It’s Complicated” with Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin right now.
Emily Blunt is currently in theaters in “Young Victoria.” Next up for her is “The Adjustment Bureau” with Matt Damon and “The Wolfman” with Benicio Del Toro.
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 17, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were at the 2010 Golden Globes. They seem like such a cute couple, and they’ve been together for a long time in Hollywood terms. Catch Ford in “Extraordinary Measures,” in theaters Jan. 22, 2010. Flockhart is busy with ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.”
Ginnifer Goodwin at the 2010 Golden Globes
January 17, 2010 by Jane Boursaw
Ginnifer Goodwin shined in blue at the 2010 Golden Globes. She always looks so serious, which is completely opposite of her character on HBO’s "Big Love." Catch Goodwin in "A Single Man," in theaters right now, and in the upcoming "Ramona and Beezus."
