Anna Kendrick: Who’s sexier? George Clooney or Robert Pattinson

Anna Kendrick: Who’s sexier? George Clooney or Robert Pattinson

Anna Kendrick has it rough, doesn’t she? What a nightmare it’s been for her, starring with both Robert Pattinson and George Clooney in the same year. Man, I feel for her.
The adorable actress appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and set the record straight on her co-stars from “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “Up in the Air.” I’d have to go with Clooney.

Michael Cera should do a biopic on Garry Shandling’s life

Michael Cera should do a biopic on Garry Shandling’s life

If there’s any doubt that Michael Cera is a troublemaker, this clip from MTV should clear things up. “Well, last night we almost got kicked out of the hotel for playing piano,” said the star of “Youth in Revolt” (in theaters this weekend).
Seriously, I really love Michael Cera, even though he basically plays the same character in every film.
And by the way, don’t you think he should do a biopic on Garry Shandling’s life? Same here (see below).

Bradley Cooper: “The worst host ever on the Discovery Channel”

Bradley Cooper: “The worst host ever on the Discovery Channel”

Bradley Cooper is having a pretty good year so far – and last year, too. He was in “He’s Just Not That Into You,” “All About Steve” (we’ll forget about that one), and “The Hangover,” (out on DVD now). That shot to the top of my favorite movie list.
And he’s got “Valentine’s Day” coming up on Feb. 12, as well as “The A-Team” (he plays Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck) later in the year.
Here he is on “The Late Show With David Letterman,” talking about what an awful host he made on a Discovery Channel show earlier in his …read more

Should Michael Cera do a different type of role?

Should Michael Cera do a different type of role?

Michael Cera is one of those actors who’s really been pegged in a particular type of role. But he does it really well – that sort of deer in the headlights kid who finds himself in awkward situations.
He’s done that character in various incarnations in “Arrested Development,” “Superbad,” “Juno,” and now “Youth in Revolt,” in theaters this Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.
It’s hard to envision him in any other role, and I’m not sure I really want to see him in another role. Do you? What could you see him doing?
Here he talks about his character Nick Twisp …read more

Hunter Parrish, Zoe Kazan and Caitlin Fitzgerald talk ‘It’s Complicated’

I really loved “It’s Complicated,” and actually wouldn’t mind seeing it again. It’s a lovely look at middle-aged love, sex and lust.
Reelzchannel caught up with the actors who played the children of divorced couple Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin, and they talked about working with legends, as well as that awkward nude scene that gave us a nice shot of Alec Baldwin’s butt.
Read my review of “It’s Complicated.”

Screamstress talks to Lance Henriksen (“Bishop” in the ‘Alien’ franchise)

Screamstress talks to Lance Henriksen (“Bishop” in the ‘Alien’ franchise)

One of my favorite characters in the “Alien” franchise is Bishop, the synthetic artificial person played by Lance Henriksen. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) wasn’t too keen on having him on the team, but she changed her tune by the end of the movie, after Bishop rescued her and Newt from the platform:
Bishop: I’m sorry if I scared you. That platform was just becoming too unstable. I had to circle and hope that things didn’t get too rough to take you off.
Ripley: Bishop, you did okay.
Bishop: I did?
Ripley: Oh, yeah.
Henriksen has a dozen or so films coming up in the next …read more

Ricky Gervais Interview: "No big production numbers" for Golden Globes

Ricky Gervais Interview: "No big production numbers" for Golden Globes

I recently talked with Ricky Gervais, who’s not only busy with movie and TV projects, but also gearing up to host The 67th Annual Golden Globes Awards live telecast on NBC at 8 PM EST.
It’s funny because I was waiting for a publicist to call me for the interview, and when the phone rang and I picked it up, there was Ricky. I think the non-fanfare nature of the phone call – no publicist or middle person – says a lot about who he is. He’s really a giant star, with movies like “The Invention of Lying,” audiobooks like “The …read more

Rob Marshall talks ‘Nine’

Rob Marshall talks ‘Nine’

Director Rob Marshall talked to ReelzChannel about making the movie “Nine.” He mentions how great it was to work with actors like Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson and Daniel Day-Lewis.
I haven’t seen it yet, and absolutely can’t wait. Look for it to expand on Christmas Day. Marshall previously directed “Chicago” and will helm the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, hitting theaters in 2011.

Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law talk ‘Sherlock Holmes’

We always see a movie on Christmas Day, and this year, we’re planning on seeing “Sherlock Holmes.” For one thing, it’s rated PG-13, so it’ll be fine for my kids, 12 and 15. And it just looks like a fun movie.
Paul Byrne from Movies.ie talked with co-stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law about the homoerotic relationship between Holmes and Watson. Bromance to the max! Watch the trailer here.

Interview: Chris Lowell on playing Clooney’s assistant in ‘Up in the Air’

Interview: Chris Lowell on playing Clooney’s assistant in ‘Up in the Air’

I had the opportunity to talk with Chris Lowell recently. You might know him as Dell on ABC’s “Private Practice,” but he also plays George Clooney’s assistant in “Up in the Air.” He’s fun, cute and humble!
What was it like working on “Up in the Air”?
It was a blast to shoot. [Director] Jason Reitman is a genius, because he can create work as good as he creates, and also make it just fun to be a part of. It’s one of the best work experiences I’ve ever had.
What role do you play?
I play George Clooney’s assistant, …read more
