Casablanca and More on DVD – Dec. 2, 2008
December 1, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Casablanca (Ultimate Collector’s Edition). Wow, when they say this is the ultimate collector’s edition, they’re not kidding! In addition to the classic movie starring Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart, this three-disc edition, available in both DVD and Blu-ray formats, contains:
- an introduction by Lauren Bacall, Bogart’s widow
- the documentary “You Must Remember This: A Tribute to Casablanca”
- a production history gallery
- deleted scenes
- outtakes
- the Warner Brothers cartoon “Carrotblanca”
- the 1993 documentary “Jack L. Warner: The Last Mogul”
In addition, there’s a 48-page book, one-sheet reproduction cards, copies of archival correspondence, and “exclusive passport and luggage tag.” This set is awesome! Check it out here.
More DVDs after the jump…
Wanted (Single-Disc Widescreen Edition). This is one of those movies that sailed by me when it came out in theaters, so I’m looking forward to the DVD. It’s got lots of action, guns, fast cars and Angelina Jolie. [Gecko Review (Elizabeth Kricfalusi)] [Official Site]
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The second movie in the “Chronicles” franchise, and the Pevensie children get into the thick of things again. Also available in a 3-Disc Collector’s Edition. [Gecko Review] [Official Site]
The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Scully and Mulder return to the big screen for another (sort of) thrilling adventure. Also available in a 3-Disc Special Edition. [Gecko Preview] [Official Site]
Step Brothers (Single-Disc Unrated edition). Crude, juvenile and proud of it! This movie stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as two 40-year-olds living at home, thrown together when their single parents get married. [Official Site]
