Box Office: July 18 – 20, 2008
July 21, 2008 by Jane Boursaw
Not surprisingly, The Dark Knight reigned supreme at the box office this week, taking in a whopping $158 million! Boff! Bam! That’s a lotta dough. In fact, it beat out the former record-holder, Spider-Man 3, which opened to $151.1 million in May 2007.
And Kung Fu Panda is still hanging in there on the tail end. I believe in the awesome power of Jack Black. Still gotta get out to see Space Chimps and Mamma Mia. Will try and do that this week. Here are the numbers from Box Office Mojo:
1-The Dark Knight, $158.41M
2-Mamma Mia!, $27.75M
3-Hancock, $14.04M
4-Journey to the Center of the Earth, $12.34M
5-Hellboy II: The Golden Army, $10.11M
6-Wall*E, $10.07M
7-Space Chimps, $7.18M
8-Wanted, $5.07M
9-Get Smart, $4.12M
10-Kung Fu Panda, $1.86M
