Beezus and Ramona headed to theaters!
March 3, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Awww, now here’s a movie I can get behind 100%. Some of my favorite book characters from when I was a kid are coming to theaters. I read all the Beverly Cleary books, but Beezus and Ramona were definitely two of my favorite characters.
Now a Fox 2000 film titled “Beezus and Ramona” is headed to theaters March 19, 2010. Directed by Elizabeth Allen (“Aquamarine”), it stars Ginnifer Goodwin as 10-year-old Ramona’s favorite person, Aunt Bea; and John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan as the two girls’ parents, Dorothy and Bob Quimby.
I loved “Aquamarine,” so with Elizabeth Allen helming this movie, combined with my favorite characters and some great actors so far, I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
Selena Gomez (Beezus) and Joey King (Ramona) are rumored in those roles. Also note that some sites are showing the title as “Ramona and Beezus,” but I’m going with “Beezus and Ramona” for now, as that’s how the books are titled.
Any other Beverly Cleary fans out there?
